BBC cancels drama series that was overshadowed by scandal involving affair between co-stars, despite airing only one season – Metro.co.uk

 

The BBC has decided to end the thriller series Better, starring Leila Farzad and Andrew Buchan, after its first season, amid rumors of a romantic relationship between the two main actors. The five-part series featured Leila Farzad, aged 42, in the role of corrupt detective Lou Slack, who made an agreement with the leader of a drug smuggling operation, Col McHugh, portrayed by Andrew Buchan, aged 45, at the start of her career. The detective drama was overshadowed by allegations that Andrew, who is married to Amy Nuttall from Downton Abbey, had developed feelings for Leila, who is also married.
